How do I apply?
Follow this link for an application

Is your space limited to each grade?
Yes.  In order to stay true to our charter, we must limit our class sizes.  Priority enrollment is the best way to secure a spot for your child.

How long does open enrollment last?
Priority enrollment ends on January 15, 2018 11:59pm.  All applications received after 11:59 p.m. on January 15th, 2018 will be time-stamped and added, in time-stamped order, to the wait-list for the selected grade and will not be chosen by random selection in the lottery.

When is your lottery?
Our lottery will be held in January.

Do I need to be present at the lottery to receive a space?
No. You will be emailed immediately after the lottery has been run with either confirmation that you received a space or your number on the waitlist. If you do choose to attend the lottery, it is recommended that you bring a phone or device to confirm your child’s space within that grade via the email link. You must confirm your space after the lottery or your child’s seat will be forfeited and moved to the bottom of the waitlist.

How old must my child be to enroll in Kindergarten?
To apply to kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2018.

What enrollment priorities do you have?

  • Children of the CPA-CFA’s board of directors
  • Sibling preference. The term “siblings” includes any of the following who reside in the same household: half siblings, stepsiblings, and children residing in a family foster home.
  • Children of CPA-CFA’s full-time employee

*Based on space is available and does NOT exceed grade level capacity.

Is there a tuition fee to attend Coastal Prep?
No, CPA-CFA is a tuition-free public charter school.

How does the lottery work?
Priority enrollment starts on November 15th  and ends on January 15, 2018 11:59pm. Once the priority enrollment period closes (1/15/2018 at 11:59 p.m.), all of the applications received by then will be counted and organized by grade. All of those applications are subject to the lottery if oversubscribed. You will be notified if your application is going to lottery.  We will hold the lottery publicly for anyone that wished to attend.  All applications received after 11:59 p.m. on January 15th, 2018 will be time-stamped and added, in time-stamped order, to the wait-list for the selected grade and will not be chosen by random selection in the lottery.

Where can I view the current waitlist?
Here is the link to our current waitlist.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

My child is on the waitlist, but has moved down a spot. How is this possible?
Undoubtedly this is frustrating. We try to keep families together, so when one sibling is accepted and has another sibling waitlisted in another grade, that waitlisted sibling gets an enrollment preference, meaning they move to the bottom of the sibling waitlist. This means that occasionally parents will see their children move down the list instead of up.
