I applied last year for the lottery. Do I need to apply again?
Yes, you must apply EVERY SCHOOL YEAR for the specific grade that your student will be in.

My student currently attends CPA.  Do I need to apply again for next year?
No, in early spring we send out an intent form to confirm your seat(s) for the following school year.

Is your space limited to each grade?
Yes.  In order to stay true to our charter, we must limit our class sizes.  Priority enrollment is the best way to secure a spot for your child.

When is your lottery?
Our lottery will be held on March 18, 2020, for the 2020-2021 school year.

Do I need to be present at the lottery to receive a space?
No. You will be emailed immediately after the lottery has been run with either confirm that you received a space or your number on the waitlist. If you do choose to attend the lottery, it is recommended that you bring a phone or device to confirm your child’s space within that grade via the email link. You must confirm your space after the lottery or your child’s seat will be forfeited and moved to the bottom of the waitlist.

How old must my child be to enroll in Kindergarten?
To apply to kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2020.

What enrollment priorities do you have?

  • Children of the CPA-CFA’s board of directors
  • Sibling preference. The term “siblings” includes any of the following who reside in the same household: half-siblings, stepsiblings, and children residing in a family foster home.
  • Children of CPA-CFA’s full-time employee

*Based on space is available and does NOT exceed grade level capacity.

Is there a tuition fee to attend Coastal Prep?
No, CPA-CFA is a tuition-free public charter school.

How can I verify/check on my applications/results for the lottery or position on the waitlist?

You can check your student’s status 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by logging into your Lotterease parent account.

My child is on the waitlist but has moved down a spot. How is this possible?
Undoubtedly this is frustrating. We try to keep families together, so when one sibling is accepted and has another sibling waitlisted in another grade, that waitlisted sibling gets an enrollment preference, meaning they move to the bottom of the sibling waitlist. This means that occasionally parents will see their children move down the list instead of up.
